Immigration Illuminated 2020
Two years ago, the students and I came together to create an installation to illuminate the horrors happening to children at the U.S./Mexico border. As I had students reading current event articles, this subject became increasingly important to my students. This feeling of wanting to help, to shed light, to educate our community was palpable, so we sat down as a team and started brainstorming. In each of my Spanish classes, every student was asked to bring forth their talents, passions, and ideas, so that we could collectively create something that would be awe-inspiring. They brought a plethora of phenomenal ideas.
